Maxi “francesinha” – restaurant Verso Em Pedra serves maxi “francesinhas” of about 3kgs and challenges its guests to eat it within one hour for a monetary reward. There are only few people who were able to “win” the challenge so far. Will you be the next one?
Mini “francesinha” – after trying “maxi francesinha” from Verso Em Pedra, you will probably not want to hear about more “francesinhas” until the rest of your life. Just in case you change your mind, there are also some restaurants preparing mini version of this famous dish. Try it, for example in Aquele Tasco, or in Malte Taberna (located a bit further from the city, in Trofa).
Made-in-Oven “francesinha” – another different type of “francesinha” is the one baked inside the oven. You can try it, for example, in Al Forno, or in a Casa D. Amélia located in Vila Nova da Gaia for a very cheap price!
Different-Sauce “francesinha” – the secret of a good “francesinha” lies in the sauce. If you are tired of classic sauces, you should definitely try the one prepared by Taberna Belga, located in Braga. You will either love it, or hate it. But normally, people love it!
Vegetarian “francesinha” – although meat and charcuterie are one of its main ingredients, yes, “francesinha” can also be prepared without meat! Try it, for example, in Lado B, or in Terrárea located in Matosinhos.
“Francesinha poveira” – “francesinha poveira” resembles hot-dog, but it tastes as “francesinha”. The dish comes from Póvoa de Varzim and you can try it in one of local restaurants, e.g. in Guarda-Sol.
